We’re looking for a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager. Can you picture yourself here?

Here’s what you’d do:

The Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager provides financial reporting and analysis services including preparation and review of financial information for internal and external use and consolidation of the general ledgers. This role provides technical support to members of the Finance and Accounting team on the treatment of accounting issues in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements and possesses a strong understanding of US GAAP as well as strong technical accounting and reporting skills. This role also assists with the corporate accounting function, coordinates internal and external audit delivery efforts, and helps to document accounting policies and procedures.

You’d be responsible for:

  • Perform month-end close procedures, including recording month-end journal entries and preparing account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly consolidation of the general ledger, including elimination entries.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual SEC filings, including the consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and other required information, in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting for complex technical accounting areas, including but not limited to goodwill and intangible assets, derivative instruments, and earnings per share.
  • Supervise and review work performed by direct reports.
  • Provide technical support to members of the Finance and Accounting teams on the treatment of accounting issues in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Understand and provide interpretation of new accounting pronouncements and assist management in assessing financial and operational implications.
  • Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting implications of complex or non-standard transactions.
  • Review contracts and agreements, research relevant accounting guidance and recommend the proper accounting treatment.
  • Own the technical accounting implications, including purchase accounting, for acquisitions.
  • Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance reviews.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure documentation, deliverables, and financial reporting meets agreed deadlines and quality standards.
  • Preparation of annual environmental social and governance reporting, including calculation of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Prepare and review bank compliance reporting.

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • 4-7 years of financial accounting, SEC reporting, and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong experience working with U.S. GAAP, SEC, and financial covenant reporting requirements.
  • Experience in a matrixed organization and willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management and communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Precise, deadline-driven, mature-minded, organized, communicative and creative team member.
  • Proficiency with Excel financial modeling, PowerPoint presentations and other financial software (VBA macros a plus) with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with JDE, CoStar, Active Disclosure, and/or OneStream preferred but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite at the Blue Bell PA headquarters a minimum of 3 days per week.
