Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Fostering the best teams starts with a diverse team. Our industry-leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) strategies include Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) all offering support, development opportunities, and mentorship paving the path for all team members.

We define each area of DE&I and have our very own statement we stand behind.

BrightView’s DE&I Statement:

How we Define Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

Diversity: The practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social identities such as gender, race, ethnicity, anility, and sexual orientation, world views, and so on. People alone are not diverse. Diversity is relative to the whole.

Equity: The guarantee of fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all team members at all levels while actively working to identify and remove barriers that have hindered members of marginalized communities time striving to identity and eliminate barriers that have historically hindered members of marginalized communities.

Inclusion: A state when everyone is welcomed, respected, and expected to contribute or participate such that each individual is valued for who they are, which includes their unique characteristics. An inclusive climate and culture embraces differences and offers respect in words and actions so that all team members can fully participate and maximize their potential.
